Moving In

• What fees are required for move-in?

  A security deposit is required when you enter into the lease agreement. If you’re moving into a condominium, check with the condominium board to see whether any additional charges apply, such as a fee to book the elevator for moving your household goods.

• Are stoves and refrigerators included with the property?

  Both are generally included.

• If I move in mid-month, what will I be charged for rent?

  For a move-in on any day other than the first of the month, we generally charge pro-rated rent for the balance of that month, with the full month’s rent due on the first of each following month. These terms will be outlined in your lease agreement and explained to you at lease-signing.

Pets & Insurance

• Do you accept pets?

  Citysearch is a pet-friendly company, though individual condominium buildings and owners may have different requirements. Pets are generally assessed and allowed on a case-by-case basis. If you’re a current resident considering getting a pet, please check with us first to avoid any disputes later on.

• Do I need tenant’s insurance?

  Yes, you’re responsible for carrying tenant’s insurance for your contents and for liability. Please consult an insurance specialist and refer to your obligations as outlined in your lease agreement, and make sure your coverage stays in good standing for the entire duration of your tenancy. A copy of your insurance certificate and policy coverage is required before you take possession of the property.

Rent & Payments

• When is rent due?

  Rent is due on the first day of each month.

• How do I pay rent?

  There are several ways to pay rent to Citysearch:

  • Pre-authorized debit, complete the pre-authorized payment form and send it to Citysearch
  • Pay online through RentMoola, a secure payment site, set it up as a recurring automatic payment, or log in on the first of the month to pay manually. Paying by credit card carries a fee of up to 2.75%
  • Mail or deliver post-dated cheques to 509 – 20 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2S 0E7
  • E-transfer rent to payment@citysearchcalgary.com, using “Citysearch” as the security answer, and be sure to include your rental address in the message/notes field

Moving Out & Community Living

• What’s the procedure for moving out of my property?

  Once a move-out date and time is established, we’ll send you Citysearch’s vacate instructions, which outline how to prepare the property to be handed back.

• How do I know when to put out garbage or recycling?

  Check the City of Calgary’s garbage, recycling, and composting schedule for your collection details.
