The Alberta government is poised to create a committee to examine rent regulation, security deposits, and other issues of critical importance to landlords in Alberta. The Calgary Residential Rental Association (CRRA) has embarked on a campaign of information and advocacy to inform the government and the broader public that poor public policy actually hurts the people it is intended to help. There are numerous proven reasons why rent controls do not make sense.
